Custom work, build time, shipping, and how to take care of a handmade wood sign.
Is any of this made with a CNC or laser engraver?
No. Every design is drawn by hand, transferred onto the wood, then cut out with a jigsaw and bandsaw. Sanding, painting, staining and assembly are all done by hand in my shop in Arkansas.
How long does an order take?
Everything is built to order, so your piece does not exist until you order it. Build time depends on the size, the number of layers and how many orders are ahead of yours. Once your order comes in I will give you a realistic window and send photos as it goes.
How do custom orders work?
Send me your idea and a photo of what you have in mind. A reference picture is the fastest way to get it right. I will come back with questions, a layout and a price. Nothing gets cut until you say go. A 50% deposit starts the build and the rest is due before it ships.
What wood do you use?
Mostly birch ply and solid pine for layered painted signs, and pine and birch for toy boxes. Cedar if a piece needs to handle a covered outdoor spot. I will tell you what yours is built from.
What does shipping cost and how do you pack?
Shipping depends on the size of the finished piece, the package and where it is going. I will give you the shipping cost before the order is finalized. Larger pieces such as toy boxes and oversized signs are quoted individually. Local pickup is available in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Every piece is packed carefully for shipping.
Can a sign go outside?
My signs are made for indoor display, or an outdoor spot that stays fully covered like a porch or a garage. They are painted birch and pine, not weather rated, so I honestly cannot tell you how one holds up out in rain and sun. If you need something for an uncovered wall, say so before you order and I can talk about cedar and an exterior finish.
How do you care for it?
Keep it indoors or under cover. Dust it with a dry or barely damp cloth. No sprays, no polish, no harsh cleaners, and keep painted pieces out of all day direct sun so the colors stay true.
Do you offer returns?
Each piece is made to order, so sales are final. That is why nothing gets cut until you approve the size, wording, colors and layout. If your piece shows up damaged from shipping, send me a photo and I will make it right.

Not through the online store yet. Send a message through the contact page and I will quote it directly.
